Bahrain delighted to be first
'A huge step forward' for BIC and Bahrain
Yesterday in Rome the FIA revealed that Bahrain will host the opening race of next year’s 19-race season on 12th March 2005. The 2006 opener will mark the third Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), Malaysia is next on schedule as it hosts the second race on March 19 followed by Australia on April 2.

Bahrain has been chosen to host the opening Grand Prix event of the 19-race 2006 season starting on March 12, the sport's governing body the FIA confirmed on Wednesday.
