Alonso voted third best 2005 champion
F1 title winner Fernando Alonso has finished third in a ranking of the world's best sports champions of 2005. The Spaniard, at 24 the youngest ever drivers' champion in the Grand Prix history, was beaten to the honour by Swiss tennis player Roger Federer and MotoGP's Valentino Rossi.

Rubens Barrichello is preparing to kick off his new Honda powered career. On Sunday 1st January, the Brazilian's 2006 contract moved into first gear, after Ferrari refused to release him for the November-December tests.

Juan Pablo gets more than 50% of the vote
Colombian F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has been named 2005's top Latin-American racing star.
The 30-year-old, who joined Mercedes-powered McLaren last year and won three Grands Prix, was handed the honour after the vote of a media and journalists' panel representing the mostly Spanish-speaking region.

The new company will be called Mobilityland
Suzuka Circuitland and Twin Ring Motegi have agreed to merge around June of 2006, naming the new company Mobilityland Co., Ltd..
The two Japanese circuits will benefit from the merger by combining their management resources while utilizing the characteristic of both companies to improve their overall performance.

Toyota are planning to offer Formula One driver Kimi Raikkonen a five year contract worth an estimated 100 million euros from 2007, German newspaper Bild reported on Sunday.
