Liuzzi happy with his qualifying performance
European GP - Toro Rosso Cosworth - Qualifying
Tonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed start the European Grand Prix from 14th and 17th positions respectively.

Villeneuve shines for BMW Sauber
European GP - BMW Sauber - Qualifying
Jacques Villeneuve has qualified for the fourth row of the grid for the European Grand Prix. However, Nick Heidfeld - last year's pole man - was not able to get into the top ten qualifying session at the Nürburgring so could only set the 15th best time.

Cosworth problems hinder Williams at Nurburgring
European GP - Williams Cosworth - Qualifying
Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg set the tenths and 12th fastest times respectively today in qualifying at Nurburgring. Unfortunately for both, the team had changed both Cosworth V8 powerplants in the two hour break between practice and qualifying and as a result they drop to 20th and 22nd on the grid.

Fernando Alonso bagged Pole Position for the European Grand Prix, but confusion was the overriding emotion during the qualifying hour at the Nurburgring.

Red Bull deny Ferrari to blame
RB2 package proving difficult
Red Bull is refusing to blame engine supplier Ferrari for its disappointing pace in the 2006 season.
Technical director Mark Smith said at the Nurburgring: "It's down to a combination of lots of factors, and we certainly have no complaints about the engine."

Honda has played down its latest complaint against the suspected illegality of Ferrari's rear wing design.
