Raikkonen targeting the podium
French GP - McLaren Mercedes - Qualifying
Kimi Raikkonen will be starting tomorrow's French Grand Prix from sixth on the grid having set a time of 1:16.281 in the final qualifying session. Pedro de la Rosa's time of 1:16.632 means that he will be starting from eighth place.

Engine change for unlucky Rosberg
French GP - Williams Cosworth - Qualifying
It seems that Nico Rosberg somehow managed to over-rev his Cosworth V8 during the US Grand Prix two weeks ago. Ahead of qualifying the team changed the engine thereby incurring a ten position penalty for Sunday's race.

Disappointment for Heidfeld and Villeneuve in France
French GP - BMW Sauber - Qualifying
After running one-two in the morning practice session, qualifying was nothing but disappointment for Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve in qualifying with neither making it into the top ten.
Heidfeld starts 11th with Villeneuve languishing back in 17th.

Speed leads the way
French GP - Toro Rosso Cosworth - Qualifying
Qualifying today in France was fairly routine for Toro Rosso Cosworth with Scott Speed and Tonio Liuzzi setting the 15th and 17th best times. With Nico Rosberg taking a ten place engine change penalty, Speed starts 14th and Liuzzi 16th.

French GP - Qualifying
Bridgestone runners dominated the final minutes of qualifying for the French Grand Prix with Michael Schumacher claiming his second straight Pole Position for Ferrari with Felipe Massa once again lining up alongside on the front row of the grid. Nico Rosberg has Cosworth V8 changed
Unlike Williams' Nico Rosberg, Michael Schumacher's engine did not have to be changed before qualifying at the French Grand Prix.
A scorched engine cover was removed from the German's Ferrari, but Technical Director Ross Brawn reported that the flames from final free practice were all glitz rather than lasting damage.

Todt slams budget-boost rumour
No budget hike following US victory
Jean Todt has slammed speculation as 'bullshit' that team backers agreed to bolster Ferrari's 2006 budget by up to $26 million.
Bild newspaper in Germany said that the team, buoyed by Michael Schumacher's Indianapolis charge, had released the funds in order to push even harder for the world crown.
