Webber leads own race in Tasmania
After the first of six days
Australia's only formula one driver led his own 'Mark Webber Challenge' on Sunday after the first of six days.

In Tasmania, the 30-year-old's four-man team pulled out a lead of six and a half minutes over their eleven rivals as the arduous cycling, hiking and kayaking contest began.

German Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld says he has no plans to follow countryman Michael Schumacher into retirement.

Teams preparing for Barcelona tests
Winter testing kicks off November 28th
After a brief pause following the season finale in Brazil, engines will fire up again in Barcelona for a four day test beginning Tuesday November 28th.

Dieter Zetsche has urged McLaren-Mercedes to go two better in 2007.

The CEO of Mercedes' parent company, DaimlerChrysler, rued the silver collaboration's distant third place in the recently concluded Formula One constructors' title.

Money matters for F1s 12th team
Prodrive will enter Formula One in 2008 with a budget of around $80 million, according to the BusinessF1 magazine.
Run by former BAR Honda Team Principal David Richards, the Warwickshire based outfit's potential sponsors are, however, not known.

Australian GP extends free entry
10,000 free tickets for children
After promising to sell cheaper tickets to single women, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation is going to let 10,000 school children into the F1 event at Albert Park next year for free.

The number has been raised from 4,000 in 2006.

Cora hoping for a second child
Ralf Schumacher's wife, Cora, has vowed to 'work on' her husband as her desire for a second child grows.
Cora, 29, made the admission about providing a brother or sister for five-year-old David in the publication Revue.

She also referred to herself as a 'power woman'.

Kamui Kobayashi to run in Barcelona?
It is understood that Japanese talent Kamui Kobayashi may test Toyota's Formula One car in the very near future.


The 20-year-old F3 driver, who is part of the Cologne based F1 team's 'Young Drivers Programme', will reportedly get his debut run when testing resumes later this month in Barcelona.
