Honda to name new tester next week
Klien and Paffett favourite for Honda seat
The identity of a new test driver for the Brackley based team next year will be revealed probably in the next seven days, according to Honda Team Principal Nick Fry.

Working with harder tyres in 2007
Bridgestone's director of motorsport has warned teams that a change of philosophy will be necessary for the 2007 season.
Hiroshi Yasukawa expressed regret that rival Michelin is pulling out of the sport, but said the early beginning of a monopoly situation would make supplying tyres in F1 starkly different in 2007 and beyond.

Jarno Trulli says he does not regret leaving Renault in 2004 on the eve of the French squad's back-to-back championship triumph.

GPMA rejects reports of Renault split
"Renault is an active member"
A spokesman for Grand Prix Manufacturers' Association (GPMA) has rejected reports that Renault is no longer a member of the carmakers' association.

Xander Heijnen baulked at suggestions that when the French manufacturer signed up for the new 2008-2012 Concorde agreement, it also withdrew from the GPMA.

Mere hours after Honda confirmed its interest in signing Christian Klien as a test driver, the Red Bull refugee says he would 'welcome' a deal with the Japanese marque.

Shaaban aiming for British F3
Bernie Ecclestone has given his backing to an Arab driver's quest to reach the Formula One grid by 2009.
In a letter to Lebanese 'A1 GP' driver Basil Shaaban, the F1 Supremo wrote: "I am happy to see that you are going to join GP2. This will be a positive way for you to show your talents to Formula One teams."
