No F1 car for Alonso's Santander demoFormer Minardi boss Paul Stoddart will act as a commentator at Melbourne's Formula One race next week, it has emerged.
The local newspaper Herald Sun said Stoddart, now a Champ Car team owner with Minardi Team USA, will work for
the radio channel 3AW.
Meanwhile, contrary to previous reports,
Fernando Alonso will not drive his McLaren Mercedes on the streets of Spanish city Santander this Saturday.
The EFE news agency clarified that, as the Woking based team's banking sponsor Santander marks its 150th anniversary, 25-year-old Alonso will simply drive a Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG road car.
Other Spanish reports add that Alonso will travel directly from the event to Australia, ahead of next Sunday's season opener.
