Delayed Aguri set for crash test repeatSuper Aguri's plans to launch its 2007 car before the Australian Grand Prix rests on a repeat this week of the FIA's mandatory crash tests.
The Japanese team's contender, the SA07 - which is a development of Honda's works 2006 car
- apparently failed the tougher rear impact tests, and possibly the side crash tests, one month ago, days before announcing that the new car would only be unveiled in Tokyo on March 12.
It is understood that the car features modifications to the sides of the cockpit and the rear structure, principally to adhere to the more stringent FIA tests.
It is already being suggested that the news might precede Super Aguri using its 'interim' test car in Australia, as the Leafield based team fends off the legal threats of Spyker and Williams amid the 'customer car' furore.
The interim car is near identical in appearance to the 2006 Honda RA106 chassis.
