Bridgestone to supply four tyre types
Hard, medium, soft and super-soft options
As the Japanese marque prepares for F1's new single supplier era, Bridgestone will in 2007 supply only four different specifications of dry weather tyres to the teams.

"(They) will be known as Hard, Medium, Soft and Super
Soft," said head of track engineering operations Kees van der Grint, according to the USGP website.

"From these four specifications, two will be chosen for use at each Grand Prix."

A corresponding requirement in 2007 means that each driver must use at least one set of both offered specifications in dry weather races, but the proposed 'red tyre rule' to distinguish the different tyre types has not been introduced.

Compared with the tyres produced under the competitive situation involving Michelin last year, Bridgestone's products for 2007 are about two seconds a lap slower.
