''We have lost several days'' - de la RosaPedro de la Rosa says McLaren rookie Lewis Hamilton's big crash last week is a blow to the Woking team.
The team's Spanish test driver, who was disappointed to miss out on the race seat alongside countryman
Fernando Alonso
this year, told the newspaper Marca that the badly damaged MP4-22 - one of just two finished 2007 McLarens that was destroyed against a Valencia tyre barrier - has set the silver camp back a few days.
"We have lost several days right in the middle of the pre-season," de la Rosa said, "so we must recover quickly.
"The important thing is that Lewis is fine and I am sure he will recover from the fright.
But it is of course not a good thing that he is not out there with Fernando (at Valencia).
"He will have to work doubly hard when the car is ready."
Alonso, Hamilton and de la Rosa are all scheduled to test on Thursday.
