Crash helmet makeover for McLaren moveFernando Alonso will replace most of the blue on his current helmet livery with the colours silver or chrome in 2007, we have learned.
It is understood that the move may have been at the behest of McLaren, as light blue is closely
associated with the Spaniard and twice World Champion's former team, with whom Alonso won fifteen races.
Although 25-year-old Alonso included the colour on his helmet to represent his home region of Asturias, past Renault single seaters have been painted light blue for more than a decade in deference to departing title sponsor Mild Seven.
Alonso's wore an unbranded white helmet when he tested a McLaren for the first time last month.
