A new name for La Filiere FFSAOn the occasion of the FFSA award ceremony held on 11th December last at the Paris Lido, Jacques Régis, Chairman of the French Motor Sports Federation, unveiled the brand new Auto Sport Academy.
With the aim of reinforcing its position
on the international stage, the federal centre is getting a new name. From 2007, La Filière FFSA will become Auto Sport Academy.
As Jacques Régis emphasised: "La Filière FFSA is a name that is difficult to export. It was therefore important to rename La Filière FFSA, giving it a name that would be understood beyond our borders. We have a tool that is unique in the world, but which has stayed relatively Franco-French. We now want to strengthen our internationalisation policy and allow budding young foreign drivers to develop their skills in France FFSA Formula Campus Renault Elf and Formula Kart championships. This new identity is the first step in the process."
Its primary goals will remain unchanged: to detect, train and promote the best drivers, and prepare people for the trade of competition mechanic or motorsport driving instructor via the "JEPS Motorsport" vocational certificate.
"The objective of Auto Sport Academy is now to become THE international training centre for the motorsport trades," declared Laurent Sénéchal, general manager of the training centre.
The Auto Sport Academy inauguration ceremony will take place on 5th February 2007 in Le Mans.
