Still optimistic of a strong Brazilian race resultFerrari's Ross Brawn believes that
Michael Schumacher failed to set a time in the decisive third qualifying session at Interlagos because of a fuel pressure problem.
With the German needing to win to have a chance
of securing an eighth title in his last Grand Prix, the mechanical problem - following his engine failure at Suzuka - is therefore another harsh blow to his slim championship hopes.
"We haven't looked very closely at the car yet," Brawn told German television, "but we could see (on the telemetry) that when he left the pit lane, the fuel pressure went to zero."
The team's Technical Director said Ferrari would analyse the problem in detail overnight. "Michael has won from unfavourable grid positions before," Brawn stated. "He has a great car, so why not?"
