Jerez - Williams Toyota - TestingThe WilliamsF1 squad is already focusing on its 2007 challenge as this week the team completed four days of running at Jerez with a modified chassis to accommodate Toyota power.
In total test drivers Alex Wurz and Narain Karthikeyan
put in an impressive 586 laps in the FW28Bs, just under 2600KM. Today Wurz was second fastest at the Spanish test track with a best time of 1:19.631s with Karthikeyan third fastest on a 1:19.987s best.
Next weekend the team finish off the season in Brazil, the final race with Cosworth power.
“Narain started the last day of the Jerez test by completing a race distance this morning and then moved on to a series of set-up evaluations,” explained Test Team Manager Mike Condliffe.
“Alex, meanwhile, worked on the suspension and a tyre comparison with Bridgestone. The test has been very useful in terms of what we have learned about both the gearbox and the Toyota engine, and successful in that we managed to complete race distances with such a new package.”
