GP2 Champion not putting pressure on himselfLewis Hamilton has played down suggestions that this week's Silverstone test is a 'shootout' against McLaren incumbent Pedro de la Rosa for the 2007 race seat alongside
Fernando Alonso.
The 21-year-old Briton, who recently
wrapped up the GP2 championship at his first attempt, did a number of installation laps at Silverstone on Tuesday ahead of his two-day head-to-head with de la Rosa.
But he told ITV: "I don't think they are analysing these tests saying 'if you do better than Pedro you'll be in the seat'. I've been told I'm not being tested."
"I'm not putting any pressure on myself to go out and be quicker than him."
Following his proper test debut at Silverstone, Hamilton is scheduled to then appear again at Jerez before the Brazilian Grand Prix.
