Expected better results after strong 2005 seasonRalf Schumacher has taken exception to the widespread view that Toyota has the biggest budget in F1.
The German driver disagreed with Bild am Sonntag newspaper's claim that the Japanese marque spend approximately $575 million
per year on the team which is yet to win a Grand Prix.
"That is not correct," Ralf protested. "For a long time yet we can not hope to compete with the budget and number of employees of McLaren."
"Other teams gladly say that we spend the most money, to protect themselves. It is correct that we have one of the bigger budgets, but we do not have the biggest one by any means."
31-year-old Ralf did admit, however, that everything is not running entirely to plan for Cologne-based Toyota.
"You're right, we are behind where we want to be," he said. "Perhaps we were too confident after last season."
"But we have the fourth strongest car and we will improve even more, but whether it will be enough to get some victories this season, I am not sure."
