Schumacher still in title fight. Perhaps.
19 points to gain – starting at Magny Cours
After carving six points out of Fernando Alonso's lead at Indianapolis, Michael Schumacher says he is still in the chase for the 2006 title.
“Everything was just spot on,” said the Ferrari driver, “and with Fernando fifth it
is a big step back towards the championship. We are still a long way behind but (catching up) is not impossible at all. I think we can do it.”

Team-mate Felipe Massa's second place, meanwhile, was the young Brazilian's best career finish.

Renault driver Giancarlo Fisichella dominated Alonso all weekend but admitted that he could not match the Ferraris' superior pace.

“Third was the best we could do today so we have to be satisfied with that,” said the Roman. “I was quicker than Fernando but unfortunately the Ferraris were too strong.”
