No team orders for the US Grand PrixFlavio Briatore has denied that part of Renault's focus at Indianapolis this afternoon will be on manoeuvring title-leader
Fernando Alonso past team-mate and quicker-qualifier
Giancarlo Fisichella.
"It is okay," said the team principal,
"because Fisichella can take some points off of Ferrari for the championship. We will see."
Briatore admitted that he believed Michelin had brought 'excessively conservative' tyres to the United States Grand Prix after the debacle of 2005.
He said: "So what we have to do now is limit the damage and get as many points as we can get from this one."
"The season is very long and it is ok if Alonso is on the podium.
At Magny Cours we will go back to winning."
Alonso, meanwhile, commented that he thought some of the deficit to Fisichella at Indianapolis is due to a 'new spec' V8 engine that he will not use until the next race.
He said: "It was a help here for him."
