Modifications to three V8sWithout penalty and under FIA supervision, Ferrari has replaced some parts in the Montreal-Indianapolis engines of
Michael Schumacher, Felipe Massa and David Coulthard.
Coulthard's Red Bull team-mate Christian Klien, however, did not need the
same treatment - reportedly new o-rings - as he was already scheduled for a new 2.4 litre V8 for the US Grand Prix.
Klien, meanwhile, confirmed to reporters that his team would try to introduce its new 'seamless' gearbox at Magny Cours following recent reliability dramas.
At the same time, some attention in the Indianapolis paddock was turning skywards; there is talk that grey clouds and thunderstorms - rather than another Michelin tyre saga - could disrupt Sunday's big race.
Indy rookie Nico Rosberg, however, is more worried about Friday, and the clash of free practice and Germany's knockout game of the World Cup against Argentina.
Luckily for him, though, test driver Alex Wurz normally handles the bulk of the Friday running.
"I'm pretty pleased about that," he grinned, "so you will probably find me watching a television somewhere!"
