Expecting opening dialogue with EcclestoneCircuit President Joie Chitwood says talks with Bernie Ecclestone about the future of the US Grand Prix at Indianapolis are not scheduled for this weekend.
"We are not sure that a new deal is something that will be resolved this
week," he said. "I assume that we will have some initial conversations with Mr Ecclestone."
Even with the six-car debacle of 2005 still fresh in minds, Ecclestone worked hard in the press last week trying to create the impression that Indy needs a Grand Prix more than he needs a US race.
On Thursday evening, Ecclestone had not yet arrive at the circuit.
Chitwood added: "We're looking forward to speaking with the guys while they're here, but we've had no real discussions yet. We don't know where it's going."
