Growing opposition to BMW SauberMcLaren and Williams have now joined Honda in calling for an end to BMW's alleged flouting of rules banning flexible wings.
Although, when asked, Ferrari's Jean Todt opted to stay out of the argument, chiefs for Williams and McLaren agree
with Honda that the BMW Sauber rear wing appears to be flattening out in order to illegally boost top speeds.
"No. Talk about our car (instead)," Todt flatly told reporters in Montreal when asked about the topic.
McLaren F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh, however, admits that he saw Fry's photographic evidence at Montreal, adding: "(It) looks fairly compelling evidence that there is something not quite right."
Interestingly, with the FIA's pre-Canada assertion that separators be added to all rear wings, Ferrari appears no longer implicated in the dispute.
But the teams are seemingly just as annoyed by the FIA's arguably lenient view as they are at BMW's slipping through the loophole.
Also bringing up a safety aspect, Williams' Technical Director Sam Michael was also quoted as saying by Eurosport: "Ultimately it's going to end in tears."
"It's a very stupid game. It's ridiculous to have flexible wings in F1."
BMW Motorsport Director Dr Mario Theissen, on the other hand, is resolute. "This is all an indication," he told Auto Motor Und Sport magazine, "that our progress is now being noticed by our competitors."
