Monza - Tuesday - TestingFive teams started testing at Monza today, to prepare for the Canadian and United States Grand Prix.
Giancarlo Fisichella set the pace at the wheel of his Renault. Less than two tenths of a second separated the top four drivers, including Nick
Heidfeld (second), Heikki Kovalainen (third) and Nico Rosberg (fourth).
“Nico and Alex were driving today for the first of a three day test in Monza,” explained Mike Condliffe, Test Team Manager at Williams. “Nico mainly concentrated on both tyre construction and compound tests while Alex started the morning session working on the gearbox before evaluating some aero parts. After lunch, Alex moved on to some suspension development work. Both Nico and Alex will continue the team’s programme tomorrow.”
The action will continue tomorrow, with Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso joining today’s teams.
