Renault roadshow busy in Portugal
Di Grassi shows off the R27 in Lisbon
After Johannesburg, the Technocentre near Paris and most recently Kiev, the Renault team travelled to Lisbon at the weekend to display its cars for the latest stop on its 2008 Roadshow programme.

After several weeks of preparation
in close collaboration with Renault Portugal, the team was on the streets of the Portuguese capital at the weekend for a special demonstration with Brazil’s Lucas Di Grassi behind the wheel of the R27. The event was a first for city of Lisbon and was well supported by the Portuguese fans.

More than 100,000 people turned out for the demonstration as the team’s third driver put the car through its paces. Some donuts and burnouts showed the potential of a Formula One car and were greatly appreciated by the public.

The track was especially designed for the event and included the famous Avenida da Liberdade, the Marques de Pombal Square and the Restauradores Square, which helped the team put on an exceptional demonstration in a warm and relaxed environment, which is what the Roadshow programme is all about.

“We have received a great welcome in Lisbon," stated di Grassi. "The aim was to provide a special show for the public and I believe we have succeeded in doing that. The public came out in big numbers and I hope that they enjoyed the day as much as I did. Driving on the streets of a city is something very different and very intense because the public is very close to you... it’s a special feeling and I had a lot of fun this weekend.”
