''I've just to keep my focus''Kimi Raikkonen's recent run of results has left the Finn frustrated, but the defending champion is not about to allow himself to be become rattled heading to the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"It's no secret that we're not satisfied by how the
last five races went," Raikkonen began. "I was particularly disappointed after the series Montreal-Magny-Cours-Silverstone: in each one of these races I had the possibility to win, but because of one thing or another things didn't go the right way and I lost."
"I never let myself be influenced by tension and I won't start now: I've just to keep my focus and continue to give as much as possible, race after race. That's what I've done every time I was in trouble."
Raikkonen, who today celebrates his fourth wedding anniversary to wife Jenni, has scored eight points in the last two races which for most of the drivers would be a very acceptable tally. However, Lewis Hamilton has, in the same time frame, scored 20 and now enjoys a seven point advantage over Raikkonen in the drivers’ championship.
"It's never pleasant to explain the reasons for losing, especially for someone like me, who likes winning so much," the Ferrari driver continued. "The race at Hockenheim was the most difficult moment of the season. I was really frustrated."
Raikkonen won the Hungarian Grand Prix for McLaren back in 2005 and will be seeking a similar result this weekend with Ferrari ahead of the summer break. "After Budapest there will be a short break. That's always good, because you can recharge your batteries for the last part of the season," he concluded.
