Barcelona - McLaren Mercedes - Test day 2The second day of testing for McLaren Mercedes saw Lewis Hamilton take over testing duties from Pedro de la Rosa.
Hamilton, who lost the championship lead to rival
Kimi Raikkonen last time out in Bahrain, put in 97 laps of
the 4.655km circuit, with a best time of 1:20.452s.
With nine runners on track today, Hamilton's best time was good for fifth fastest.
"Lewis took to the test track today as the team’s focus returned to the 2008 season," the team said in a brief statement.
"The test plan for the day included aerodynamic development with a number of new components fitted to the MP4-23.
In addition Lewis and the team spent time on set-up for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix."
Hamilton remains on track tomorrow.
