The announcement was made today by Peugeot Sport and comes three days after testing the car at the Paul Ricard Circuit in the South of France.
“I’m very happy to be part of the Peugeot Sport team for the Le Mans 24 Hours, and having driven the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP at Paul Ricard this week I can see we have a very strong package and look forward to helping the team to achieve its goals,” said Klien, the youngest of the ten driver squad. "This is my first experience of driving a sports prototype and to have the chance to be in a really competitive car at the most famous sports car race in the world is a wonderful opportunity.
"
"Driving the car this week was a very different experience to what I’m used to in F1 but it was no less exciting and I can see this is a great challenge and one I’m looking forward to. “In joining Peugeot Sport for Le Mans I would also like to thank the BMW Sauber F1 team for its support in enabling me to take up this opportunity. It is great to be part of the very best teams in both F1 and sports car racing in the same season.”
