Rotterdam run in the title winning R26Heikki Kovalainen will attend Bavaria City Racing on 19th August. In the centre of Rotterdam, Kovalainen will help the public to experience the excitement and sensation of Formula 1 racing from close up, at the wheel of the world championship
winning R26.
In addition to Kovalainen, Nelson Piquet Jr will be driving an F1 car along the Coolsingel. Bavaria City Racing, which is being held for the third time in 2007, has grown to become the biggest public event in the Netherlands in the space of three years.
"I am delighted to be going to Rotterdam, to bring Formula 1 to an audience of 400,000 people," Kovalainen said. "At the ING Renault F1 Team, we are always trying to get people to see Formula One in a new light and to get them behind the scenes, and this event is a brilliant way of doing it.
I am looking forward to seeing the special city-centre circuit, and I hope the Dutch audience has as much fun watching the show as I will behind the wheel!"
For the third time in a row, Rotterdam will be the car racing focal point of the Netherlands. Following the successful events in 2005 and 2006, the Formula 1 racing cars are returning to the Dutch port city to allow racing fans to enjoy screeching tyres and roaring engines once again.
