Whilst acclimatising himself to the track and conditions he completed a front aero
test alongside a short electronic system check. During the extremely hot afternoon Takuma ran through a comprehensive chassis set-up evolution before ending the day completing a number of race start simulations.
Sato put in 108 laps today and was eighth fastest. Takuma Sato
"It was a good test and although it was very hot, the weather was consistent. We completed many laps today during which we ran through our normal tyre evaluation, electronics testing and a lot of set-up work, which produced interesting results. The car performance was encouraging and showed once again that we have good reliability. The extremely hot conditions prepared us for Hungary, so we are looking forward to next week.”
James Rossiter
“It has been a very good two days testing for me.
The car was reliable and we had no issues. On the first day we found good car balance and set-up for the next race in Hungary. On day two we worked on control systems and set-up options for 2008 and I think that we have found a positive direction in this area for next year.”
Graham Taylor, Sporting Director
“It has been a good test - preparing it for the immediate and long term future. Excellent reliability and hot weather helped the team condition itself for the next Grand Prix in Hungary and I would like to thank the team for its efforts when working in these temperatures.”
