Jerez - McLaren Mercedes - Test Day 2Lewis Hamilton set the pace in testing two weeks ago in testing at Spa Francorchamps, and following what must be described as a 'difficult' weekend at the European Grand Prix, was back in action today for McLaren Mercedes.
The
championship leader took over testing duties today at Jerez from tester Pedro de la Rosa and set the pace again on a 1:19.670s best.
The team focused on preparatory work for next week’s race at the Hungaroring. The hot and dusty conditions in Jerez provide similar track conditions that will be experienced at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hamilton and the test team worked through set-up and aero programmes for the race.
De la Rosa takes over once again tomorrow.
