''We will not be changing our drivers”Jean Todt on Sunday gave a vote of confidence to the Italian team's drivers, Felipe Massa and
Kimi Raikkonen.
McLaren are 35 points clear of Ferrari at the top of the constructors championship after seven races, while McLaren's
rookie driver Lewis Hamilton leads the driver standings with 58 points after back-to-back victories, 19 ahead of Massa and 26 points ahead of Raikkonen.
"We will not be changing our drivers," Todt said at Ferrari's 60th anniversary celebrations at the team's headquarters in Maranello. "Felipe Massa and
Kimi Raikkonen are our present and our future. Now it's up to us to give them a good car.”
"I don't know if we will improve our performances in France and in the UK. I can only say that our results at Monaco, in Canada and at Indianapolis were disappointing. But we have had some positive results from our latest tests at Silverstone and we remain hopeful."
Massa, who won in Bahrain and Spain this season, said he was encouraged by the Silverstone tests.
"I'm really satisfied," said the Brazilian. "When I drove the car I immediately noticed some positive changes. That's why I feel optimistic about the French Grand Prix."
Raikkonen agreed with Massa that their cars were running better, but was less bullish about Ferrari's chances of catching McLaren this year.
"The Silverstone tests showed that we are on the way back and my car goes much better now," said Raikkonen. "But I don't know if it will be enough to catch up with McLaren. We will have to see how things pan out."
