Kart auctioned off for Tommy'sLewis Hamilton's status as the hottest property in sport at the moment was underlined when one of the karts on which he began his racing career sold for £42,100 (65.000 euros) in a charity auction.

One by storm this season, claiming back-to-back Grand Prix wins in Canada and the United States, having started racing karts as an eight-year-old.
He sold the 80 mph (130kph) kart along with an opportunity to meet him through ebay to raise money for Tommy's, a baby charity, the BBC reported.
