Canadian GP - Toro Rosso Ferrari - PreviewScott Speed had a strong race in Monte Carlo and was even praised by team co-owner Gerhard Berger following his ninth place finish. Team-mate Tonio Liuzzi had a less successful time as he was hit by David Coulthard on the opening
lap, but now the duo are looking forward to racing at Circuit Gilles
Jacques Villeneuve.
While the team has yet to score a championship point, Speed’s ninth position has moved them ahead of Honda in the championship standings. Along with sister team Red Bull Renault, Toro Rosso Ferrari have a number of changes ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.
“We will be running new front and rear wings to suit the low downforce nature of the track,” commented Giorgio Ascanelli.
“The front wing also requires new bargeboards and all these items will have their first track test on Friday.”
“For now, we’re having to trust in our wind tunnel data. Of course we have new braking solutions for this track which is the hardest on brakes, while also keeping some elements of our Monaco package as Montreal is also a soft tyre, bumpy circuit. There are further changes aimed at improving reliability.”
