Kees van de Grint, Head of Track Engineering, explains why the tyre manufacturer hasn't decided on tyre specifications
for all of the remaining races.
According to van de Grint, Bridgestone is continuously evaluating the tyre performance and observing how well the teams are adapting to the current tyres. "Our aim is to ensure that the tyres are the correct choice both in terms of safety and also suitability for each track," van de Grint comments.
"During the pre-season tests we were able to confirm the specs for the first five races and subsequent feedback from the first three of those races has now been taken into account regarding the choice for the next four rounds of the season," the Dutchman remarked.
Additionally, Bridgestone is aiming to support the race tactics of the teams, as van de Grint explains: "Announcing the choices now will enable the teams to start thinking about their tyre strategies for the coming races."
