The Renault roadshow returns
First stop: Warsaw in June
In line with its philosophy of opening Formula 1 to an ever-wider audience, and offering the public greater access to this secretive world, the Renault team will this year launch its fourth season of spectacular F1 shows, comprising a mixture of
city-centre demonstration runs and hot laps at the World Series by Renault championship. The title of the programme? The ING Renault F1 Team Roadshow.

Launched in 2003, this programme has already thrilled more than 1.5 million people worldwide, offering them a unique sporting spectacle blending high technology, approachability and passion.

After running at venues across the globe including Moscow, Seville, Tokyo, Lyon, Istanbul and Rome, the ING Renault F1 Team is once again preparing to wow the crowds in a number of major global cities, while also continuing its spectacular F1 demonstrations, which form the showpiece of the European-based World Series by Renault championship.

As the programme enters its fourth season, its goals remain unchanged: to take passionate fans or new-comers to the very heart of the action, and to offer them unforgettable motorsport memories.

The 2007 Roadshow programme will kick off in the streets of the Polish capital Warsaw on 3rd June 2007.

Alain Dassas, Renault F1 President
“As a major automotive manufacturer, and a top F1 team, Renault has always sought to combine technical excellence, approachability and fun.
Since returning to F1, Renault’s philosophy has always been to broaden the sport’s appeal to the widest possible audience, while taking our fans closer to the heart of the action, and the people who participate in this remarkable human adventure.

“The Roadshow programme encapsulates Renault’s traditional sporting philosophy. Whether it be passionate fans, casual spectators or people new to our sport, we want to offer the public an exceptional show, completely free of charge. This programme is a key factor in strengthening Renault’s image, both in our traditional markets, and in new countries into which we are looking to expand.”

Flavio Briatore, Renault F1 Team Managing Director
“The essence of our Roadshow is this: running our F1 cars for the public, on city streets or at a World Series by Renault event. We give the people an opportunity to get close to our cars, team and drivers – something they cannot do at a Grand Prix weekend. The ING Renault F1 Team Roadshow is designed as a showcase of what modern Formula 1 is all about: a fabulous show, and an unforgettable experience!”
The ING Renault F1 Team Roadshow in numbers

1.5 million spectators have attended city centre demonstrations since 2003.
The programme achieved its record attendance in Seville 2006, when 250,000 people came to watch the demonstration run. The next best-attended events were Lyon and Moscow, with 200,000 and 100,000 spectators respectively.
10 city-centre Roadshows have been held since the programme was launched, in Europe, Russia and Japan.
During a Roadshow, the ING Renault F1 Team can reach up to 250 kph. Safety during these events is a constant preoccupation for the team, to ensure the safety of both spectators and the drivers. The circuit, its location and layout, and spectator positioning, are among the factors that must meet stringent team guidelines before a Roadshow can take place.
A 15-man team works full-time on the ING Renault F1 Team Roadshow.
